I really love reliving a book through movies and tv shows- if it’s done well. I’ve listed my opinion on a few older YA books to movies/tv here.
There are quite a few books I’ve seen that have sold their rights but it seems like a slow process. I’m going to list the ones I’ve read about, that will be released in 2018, trailers included if they’ve been released.
Leave a comment if you know of others that were not mentioned!
YA Books to Movies
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
The Death Cure by James Dashner (was put on hold due to injury, but is finally coming out.)
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli is coming out as Love, Simon
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
YA Books to TV Shows
Throne of Glass Series (to Hulu) will be called Queen of Shadows
^ This will not be out in 2018 but I’m too excited not to list it. I hope it comes out soon!
I really wish more books were made into TV shows. You get to see more details, and stay with the characters and story longer. I’m thrilled that that’s where Throne of Glass is headed, and I cannot freaking wait!! I love that series.
And if you’re not already watching it, Shadowhunters is a really good show, based off of Cassandra Clare’s series City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments).
Other Notable Books to Movies
I need to read Ready Player One before it comes out. And possibly reread A Wrinkle in Time.
How about you? What are you most looking forward to?
